Developmental Services Inc. (DSI) is non-profit public service for people with disabilities to help with various aspects of their lives that where more guidance can lead them to to more independence and fulfilling lifestyles. Due to recent mergers and confusion amongst other disability services in the area, DSI has seen low engagement and decreasing clientele. With this campaign, we aim to build awareness of DSI’s employment services and how they can help people with disabilities build independence, confidence, and find a place in the community.

Our creative idea to show toys with missing parts serves as a metaphor for people with cognitive disabilities and creates sentimental feelings and nostalgia to appeal to consumers.

Physical flyers are a good way to reach a broader audience within the community that is not already receiving a brand content. By placing flyers inside various local businesses and recreation centers, DSI will reach a varying audience.

Facebook and Instagram are prefect for DSI because they are easy to use, have wide audiences, and DSI alreay has a presence within Meta’s space.

Here, we have created a mock post with the teddy bear image attached. This includes a caption that resembles our written copy and hashtags to boost posts and help SEO.

Posts are not enough to keep up constant engagement. Stories are essential for brands to remain relevant on social media.

To help boost the brand’s confidence in posting stories, we made a campaign story short for DSI to use during this campaign.

Keeping awareness in the forefront of our campaign, we want DSI to foster community building by hosting branded DSI events.

Nothing brings communities together more than the holidays, so we created DSI Friendsgiving. Current clientele and local Bloomington residents will be invited to celebrate DSI mission and the community’s achievements.

Here is the flyer created to promote the event with open space left for DSI to add specific details. On the right, we created another mock post to show how this can also be included in social media posts.

Merch is perfect to expand a campaign and created a stronger brand identity. To help increase awareness, DSI merch would really stand out amongst other organizations.

The toys add to the sentimental element that our metaphor serves to consumers and become a branded souvenir.
